From Portland International Airport to Embassy Suites Portland-Downtown:

An inexpensive and popular way to travel from the Portland International Airport is the light rail, locally known as the MAX (Metropolitan Area Express), which is operated by TriMet. This mode of travel takes about 45 minutes. Alternatively, taxi service is available.



Taking the MAX

The Red Line is the MAX route that travels to and from the Airport.

  1. 1.Follow signs in the Airport for the TriMet MAX light rail.

  2. 2.Before boarding the train, purchase an all-zone ticket from the ticket vending machine, which will cost $2.40. This ticket is valid for 2 hours of unlimited travel.

  3. 3.Board the train.

  4. 4.After about 40 minutes, disembark at the downtown stop called Oak/SW 1st Ave.

  5. 5.Immediately, turn right (north) and walk to the end of the block.

  6. 6.Turn left (west) onto Pine and walk for two blocks.

  7. 7.The Embassy Suites Downtown will be on the right side of the street.
