Plenary Speakers

We are excited to welcome and present the plenary speakers for SIGMAA on RUME 2017!

Michelle Zandieh

Dr. Zandieh conducts research in how students learn undergraduate mathematics. She has a long standing interest in how students learn specific topics in calculus and differential equations. More recently she has also been working on undergraduate students' understanding of the role of mathematical definitions and their strategies of argumentation and proof, especially in the context of geometry. She is interested primarily in qualitative research methods including individual interviews and classroom teaching experiments.

Over the last 15 years, Alan has held a wide variety of positions in public education ranging from classroom teacher to district psychologist to site administrator.
